What We Do

Programs & Projects

Four thematic pillars — Health, Education, Governance & Democracy, and Climate Change & Environment — drive YOUNETPO's work across Liberia, backed by leading international partners.

Theme 1

Health

Healthcare accountability, facility monitoring, and community health outreach across Liberia.

5 active projects in this pillar

Theme 2

Education

Literacy infrastructure, school facilities, and advocacy campaigns for Liberia's next generation.

3 active projects in this pillar

Early Grade Learning & Literacy Distribution Infrastructure

An educational enablement program that targets primary school spaces across Montserrado County. YOUNETPO directly provides foundational learning tools (such as world maps, instructional wall clocks, and age-appropriate reading books) to local institutions including Brighter Learning Primary School, Christ Foundation, and Rebecca Academic Center of Excellence.

School WASH & Modern Infrastructure Transformation

An educational facility infrastructure partnership carried out alongside the Pan African Think Tank and formally endorsed by Liberia's Ministry of Education. This initiative constructs safe, dignified, and hygienic sanitary structures within public schools while running regional Spelling Bee contests to drive academic excellence.

Adolescent SRHR School & Radio Advocacy Campaigns

A continuous learning project leveraging localized radio dramas, educational theater networks, and peer-to-peer classroom sessions to educate school-age youth on teenage pregnancy prevention and combatting gender-based violence (GBV).

Theme 3

Governance & Democracy

Civic accountability, transitional justice, and legislative advocacy driven by youth and communities.

4 active projects in this pillar

USAID Civil Society Activity (CSA) & Health Facility Governance

Policy interventions targeting institutional flaws in regional health governance. YOUNETPO orchestrates sub-national community dialogues to establish and scale formalized Citizens' Charters within Health Facility Development Committees throughout Montserrado and Bong Counties.

Inclusive Justice & War Crimes Court Synergy

An accountability and human rights framework backed by the Women Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) through Conciliation Resources. Under this program, YOUNETPO signed a collaborative Memorandum of Understanding with the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court of Liberia (OWECC-L) to ensure that marginalized youth and local community voices directly guide transitional justice architectures.

CSO Budget Platform & Fiscal Transparency Accountability

Carried out in direct partnership with the European Union Delegation to Liberia, this transparency campaign trains community budget tracking monitors to evaluate and report on national budget expenditures, ensuring fiscal accountability for local community development allocations.

Legislative Advocacy & Open Parliament Day

An institutional advocacy campaign backed by USAID and the National Democratic Institute (NDI). YOUNETPO organized civil society coalitions to deliver strategic public petitions urging the Liberian National Legislature to adopt the international Declaration on Parliamentary Openness.

Theme 4

Climate Change & Environment

Youth-led environmental policy, ecological adaptation, and climate resilience across Liberia.

2 active projects in this pillar

National Environmental Policy Alignment with EPA Liberia

An institutional assessment and policy-matching platform where YOUNETPO worked with the Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia (EPA). The organization actively helped draft, review, and validate the official National Capacity Self-Assessment (NCSA) report to refine nationwide climate adaptation and ecological management rules.

Youth-Led Eco-Solutions & National Policy Integration

A strategic environmental advocacy initiative executed alongside the EPA and the Youth Alive Pathway. Centered on climate resilience, this framework funds youth-led validation workshops to integrate community-driven ecological adaptation models straight into national environmental policymaking.
